Reconstructions and Energy-efficient renovations
Energy-efficient renovations
In recent years, there has been a growing trend of energy-efficient renovations of existing facilities. This can be partly attributed to the lack of money for new investments, partly to the desire of users to reduce their operating costs, as well as their greater environmental awareness.
First, a careful analysis of the current condition of the facility must be made. The analysis, in addition to a careful inspection of the facility, includes detailed documentation of the existing condition and the calculation of building engineering specifications. Based on this calculation, predictions are made of what measures should be taken to improve the energy efficiency of the facility.
It must be noted that the process of energy retrofit includes much more than just a replacement of windows and the addition of a layer of thermal envelope.
PRIMARY ENERGY REPAIR MEASURES ARE RELATED TO THE THERMAL ENVELOPE OF A BUILDING:
Additional thermal insulation of the facade
Replacing joinery (windows / doors)
Proper shading of glass surfaces
PRIMARY MEASURES ARE FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER IMPORTANT STEP, SYSTEM UPGRADES:
Renovation or installation of a new heating system
Renovation or installation of a new hot water system
Renovation or installation of a new recovery ventilation system (recuperation)
Renovation or installation of a new cooling system
It is reasonable to entrust energy retrofits to experts who can, based on their past experience and precise calculations, predict the appropriate measures for each facility as well as ensure their proper planning and implementation. Gartner Architects design plans for energy retrofit projects for larger and smaller buildings. For our work, we use the BIM (Building Information Modeling) process and other state-of-the-art software.
RECONSTRUCTIONS AND RENOVATIONS OF CULTURAL MONUMENTS
We have renovated, reconstructed and refurbished several of the most important residential cultural monuments in Slovenia. For the renovation of the Ducal Court (Knežji dvorec) in Celje we received the Plečnik Medal, the Slovenian Archeological Society Award, and the 2010 Interior of the Year Award.
